Oscar Piastri won in style in the 2025 Dutch GP after a dominating race in Zandvoort. The Aussie driver, who was starting on pole, led the majority of the race and completely outshone the pack. Norris, who started in 2nd, had a major catastrophy as he had to retire due to a mechanical failure. Taking advantage of this, the home hero and reigning world champion, Verstappen, claimed the second spot on the podium. The podium was completed by Isack Hadjar, who stood on the pedestal for the first time in his F1 career.
The race had some explosive overtakes with breathtaking action that kept everyone on their seats. Let’s look into my review of the 2025 Dutch GP
Piastri Takes a Big Win as Norris Succumbs to Reliability Problems
Oscar Piastri increased his championship lead to 34 points going into the second half of the season. The Aussie driver had an amazing start at the start of the Zandvoort track. Throughout the race, he was completely in control, barring any improvised strategy or the weather. Norris, on the other hand, didn’t have the best start and was behind Verstappen going into the first banking. After overtaking Verstappen, it seemed like another comfortable 1 and 2 for the papaya team, but there were some new surprises. The McLaren, which had been the most reliable car this year, suddenly gave out, and so did Norris’s race.
Ferrari Disaster in the 2025 Dutch GP
Coming into the Dutch GP, Ferrari brought in some upgrades to help them get closer to the leaders. However, after the practice sessions, it was evident that the car was not the best out there. In the 2025 Dutch GP qualifying, at one point, it looked like they’d not get out of Q1, but they eventually got both cars into Q3. In the race, both cars had the pace to get some good points. However, Hamilton had an oversteer and crashed out into the barriers. He was soon followed into retirement by Leclerc, who was taken out by Antonelli in the same chicane. The Monegasque driver was having a good race till that time, and was looking like an outside contender for the podium spot.
Is Isack Hadjar the Next Driver to Take the Red Bull Seat
Isack Hadjar claimed his maiden podium in his 15th outing in F1. The young driver, who didn’t have the best of starts in his F1 career, drove on some luck and skill to claim his first podium. After putting in an impressive lap in qualifying, Hadjar was in the right place after Norris had to retire. Now the question on everybody’s mind is whether he will be partnering Verstappen next season in the Red Bull.
