Kimi Antonelli Becomes the Youngest Pole Sitter After Miami GP Sprint Pole

Kimi Antonelli made history and became the youngest pole sitter in F1. The 18-year-old stunned everyone with his maiden pole, beating Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. There were high hopes for the young Italian in F1. However, he proved his potential in his 6th race weekend of his rookie season.

The most interesting part was that it was his first time racing in the Miami International Autodrome circuit. He pulled out a stunning lap, which broke a record that some people expected the young driver would break in a few years, but not so soon.

Antonelli Makes a Big Statement in Miami GP sprint qualifying

George Russell has delivered for Mercedes this season, while Antonelli has had a well-assured start to his F1 career. But his career has truly taken off in the Miami GP sprint qualifying, breaking Sebastian Vettel’s record set in the 2008 Italian GP. This made him the youngest driver to be on pole in an F1 race.

The young Italian showed promise in the early practice session but was sharp for the sprint qualifying. He impressively upstaged the top 3 drivers in the world championships and claimed pole for tomorrow’s sprint race in Miami. The rookie completely outweighed the Miami GP predictions this weekend.
