Russell Wins the 2025 Singapore GP in Style

George Russell claimed his second victory of the season after fending off Verstappen and the McLarens. The Brit looked in complete control once he got off the line, and at one time was nearly 10 seconds ahead of Verstappen. However, he was aided by the 4-time champion starting on the softs, which didn’t work out for the Dutch driver in his first stint. The slim chance that he had to overtake Russell was at the start of the race, but that wasn’t possible. In reality, the Brit won the race in qualifying yesterday.

Lando Norris managed to cut the lead to the driver’s championship as he finished in 3rd ahead of his teammate. Both drivers had a coming together at the start of the race, and Piastri wasn’t happy with how things went. McLaren claimed their second consecutive constructors’ championship with 7 races to go. Now it’ll be interesting to see how the driver dynamics pan out in the next race and the remainder of the season.

The Marina Bay Street Circuit has produced some incredible races in the past; however, the track layout makes it impossible to overtake. This was the case in the 2025 Singapore GP, as drivers couldn’t overtake the other car. All this made the race boring, and the only salvation was the back markers tussling out.

Dominant Victory for Russell under the Lights

George Russell claimed the 4th win of his career in the 2025 Singapore GP. He was completely in control of the race, similar to his win in the 2025 Canadian GP. The Brit, who is out of contract at Mercedes, will look to get a bigger deal now that he has another win on his record.

McLaren Triumphant, while Internal Team Dynamics on the Verge of Collapse

McLaren won their 10th constructors, which puts them just 6 away from Ferrari now. However, getting to the Ferrari will take some years or even a decade. The victory is one story, but there is a complete shift in dynamics in the team after the race. Oscar Piastri was clearly frustrated after he was pushed nearly into the wall by Norris on the opening lap. The frustration has been hidden, and it has come to light today. Now, the question is, will it be all guns blazing to the end of the season, or will papaya rules still apply?
