Oscar Piastri won the Chinese Grand Prix in a dominating way. The Aussie controlled the pace throughout the race and didn’t face any threats from his competitors throughout the race. There wasn’t much drama on the race track, but there was plenty of it off the track in the steward’s room.
If you are wondering why I didn’t post immediately after the race? Well I think the content is becoming too repetitive and readily available on the Internet. Also, I cannot enjoy races like before, as I only focus on writing and thinking about headings or other sections. So, I am going to do things a bit differently, and every time there’ll be something different.
In this article, I’ll discuss the 5 winners and losers of the Chinese Grand Prix.
Winners
1. Oscar Piastri
Oscar Piastri had a splendid weekend in China and will be quite happy about his victory. After last weekend’s disastrous Australian GP, he bounced back and put in an exceptional performance. He outpaced his teammate in all the sessions and is firmly back in the title race.

2. McLaren Racing
McLaren had a subline weekend in China, finishing 1st and 2nd in the race. Their weekend didn’t start so well with the Chinese sprint shootout, where Lewis Hamilton won the sprint, and the Papaya team was struggling with its race pace. However, they pulled it together for the qualifying session and had an unparalleled pace during the Grand Prix.

3. George Russell
George Russell has been under the shadows this season. However, he has been producing some splendid performances. He has finished P3 in the first 2 races and was excellent throughout the race.
4. Haas
After a disastrous weekend in Australia, both Haas cars finished in the points during the race. The Haas duo finished 5th and 8th positions after the disqualifications of two drivers. Esteban Ocon had an excellent start and was in the groove throughout the race. Oliver Bearman had one of his best weekends as he overtook one car after the other, making the boring race exciting.
5. Alex Albon
Alex Albon had an outstanding outing and will claim the 7th position in the race. The Thai driver finished above his experienced teammate again this season. He is slowly but steadily claiming the first driver role at Williams.
Losers
1. Liam Lawson
Liam Lawson had another horrible weekend and is on the verge of getting axed by the team. The Red Bull driver had a disastrous qualifying session and not so interesting race. He is classified as 12th, but he finished the race in 15th position before the disqualifications of 3 drivers from the race. At this pace, he’ll join an illustrious list of rookie drivers kicked out by Red Bull.

2. Fernando Alonso
Fernando Alonso retired for the second weekend in a row due to a brake failure. The most experienced driver on the grid hasn’t had the best start this season. He hasn’t been helped by the Aston Martin car, but these were two races where he could’ve taken good points.
3. Ferrari
Ferrari fans were rejoicing after the sprint shootout; however, they had a bang-average race. The real fun began after the race as both their cars were disqualified for the first time in their history. Charles Leclerc, who finished 5th with a broken front wing, was disqualified as his car was underweight by 1kg. Lewis Hamilton, who finished 6th, was disqualified due to excessive skid wear in the rear of his car.
4. Visa Cash App Racing Bulls
The Racing Bulls team has been in exceptional positions in the past two races. However, their strategy calls have been some of the worst after Ferrari. Both their cars were running in the points before they decided to pit them again in the Chinese GP. After pitting, they couldn’t overtake the cars in front of them. So, for the second week in a row, they ended up without any points.
5. Alpine
Alpine is another team who haven’t earned any points this season. The expectations for the team were not high this year, but they are performing quite below par. Pierre Gasly had a great opportunity to get some points after the disqualification of the Ferrari cars. However, his car was also underweight, and he was also disqualified from the race.
